SMT Equipment Technician

About the role

The SMT Equipment Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance and optimisation of surface‑mount technology (SMT) production lines. You will work closely with line engineers and supervisors to ensure high‑quality output and on‑time delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot and calibrate SMT machines including SPI, Fuji, GKG printers, reflow ovens and AOI systems.
• Perform line installation, alignment, bring‑up activities and machine tossing control.
• Program Fuji mounters, reduce cycle times and analyse breakdowns for rapid repair.
• Manage spare parts inventory and support new product development, CPK and GRR studies.
• Ensure all stations meet company quality standards and contribute to zero‑defect goals.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and keep tools and equipment in good condition.

Required profile

• Diploma in a related technical field.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience with SMT equipment.
• Ability to work with line managers and operators to improve throughput.

Required skills

• Experience with SPI, Fuji, GKG printer, reflow and AOI machines.
• SMT machine maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration.
• Fuji mounter programming and cycle‑time optimisation.
• Breakdown analysis, spare‑part management and machine installation.
• Knowledge of CPK, GRR and new product rollout processes.
