Team Manager – Design & Engineering

About the role

We are looking for a Team Manager to lead the design and engineering of Spiral and Compabloc heat exchangers at Alfa Laval’s Satara plant. The role is responsible for developing the unit, meeting short‑to‑mid‑term goals and ensuring customer expectations are fulfilled.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers and draftsmen.
• Oversee detailed design and engineering of Spiral and Compabloc heat exchangers.
• Participate in estimation processes for these products.
• Maintain documentation in line with ASME and PED quality manuals.
• Coordinate with internal/external customers, consultants and third‑party inspection agencies.
• Provide technical support to bid engineering and sales teams.
• Support new and existing product development projects.

Required profile

• Strong safety focus and visible leadership.
• 10–12 years of relevant experience, including 2–3 years in a managerial design role.
• Degree in mechanical or chemical engineering.
• Pragmatic, can‑do attitude with high integrity.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PV‑Elite, AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• In‑depth knowledge of ASME, PD550, EN13445, EN and API codes.
• Experience with ASME/ASTM material selection and nozzle loading analysis (WRC‑107, WRC‑297).
• Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
