Equipment Technician – Automation & Robotics

About the role

Tata Electronics Private Limited is building India’s first AI‑enabled semiconductor foundry and needs a skilled technician to keep its automation equipment running smoothly. The role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing robots, PLCs and special‑purpose machines that support high‑volume chip production.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair automation equipment, including robots, PLCs and special‑purpose machines.
• Assist in developing and implementing robot programs for ABB, FANUC, KUKA, EPSON, SODICK and PANASONIC platforms.
• Support design, development and deployment of PLC programs using Mitsubishi, Siemens and Allen‑Bradley systems.
• Participate in automating manufacturing processes through robotics, PLCs and special‑purpose machines.
• Develop and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) documentation.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance (PM) activities to ensure equipment reliability.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory to minimise downtime.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Apply lean manufacturing principles to optimise production workflows.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Robotics, Automation or Special‑Purpose Machines.
• Hands‑on experience with robot programming and PLC troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with QMS documentation and preventive maintenance practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
