Engineering Team Leader – Mechanical

About the role

We are looking for an Engineering Team Leader – Mechanical to head a multidisciplinary mechanical design team at our Chennai facility. The role involves leading junior, senior and specialist designers in creating new Husky machine platforms, ensuring innovation, quality and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and mentor a mechanical engineering team, fostering cross‑training and professional growth.
• Oversee design, development and release of new machine platforms and critical service projects.
• Ensure products meet business‑defined requirements and align with Husky’s operating model.
• Plan and schedule design activities to meet committed delivery dates.
• Drive risk mitigation, quality assurance and continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading mechanical engineering teams in a product development environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design processes and product lifecycle management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to balance innovation with cost, schedule and quality constraints.
