Crane Electrician Technician – Heavy Equipment

About the role

PBL Transport Corporation is seeking an experienced Crane Electrician Technician to join its fleet maintenance team in Vizag. You will be responsible for the electrical upkeep of crawler and telescopic mobile cranes, ensuring safe and reliable operation for a variety of industrial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on crawler and telescopic mobile cranes.
• Read and interpret electrical circuit diagrams, wiring schematics, and hydraulic‑electrical interface systems.
• Diagnose faults in PLC systems, sensors, relays, CAN bus networks, limit switches, load moment indicators and safety devices.
• Inspect, repair, and replace components such as wiring harnesses, batteries, alternators, starters, controllers and electrical panels.
• Attend on‑site crane breakdowns and provide rapid fault‑finding support.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and periodic inspections of crane electrical systems.
• Coordinate with mechanical and hydraulic technicians for comprehensive crane repairs.

Required profile

• ITI/Diploma or B.Tech in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
• 5–10 years of hands‑on experience with heavy crane electrical systems.
• Additional certification in heavy equipment or crane maintenance is preferred.
• Ability to work independently on project sites and under breakdown conditions.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of crawler and telescopic mobile cranes.
• Proficiency with electrical circuit diagrams and wiring schematics.
• Experience with PLCs, CAN bus, sensors, relays, limit switches, and load moment indicators.
• Skilled in using multimeters, insulation testers and other electrical testing tools.
• Familiarity with hydraulic‑electrical integrated systems and crane safety interlocks.
