Assistant Engineer Welding

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Engineer Welding to join our Multi‑modal Manufacturing Facility in Pune. The role focuses on high‑quality TIG and orbital welding of tubes, ducts and sheet‑metal components for commercial jet engines, ensuring >95% first‑pass yield.

Key responsibilities

• Weld tubes, air manifolds and sheet‑metal parts using TIG and orbital processes.
• Perform welding and repair of stainless steel and Inconel components, including castings.
• Interpret engineering drawings, SOPs, manuals and MOS to produce finished products.
• Assemble welded products and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Utilise welding positioners, bevellers, rollers and 3‑D welding tables.
• Apply problem‑solving tools (5 Why, Fishbone, RCA) and train junior welders.
• Maintain the highest standards of personal integrity and safety.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical, Metallurgy, Welding or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on TIG and orbital welding experience on stainless steel and Inconel tubes/ducts for aircraft engines.
• Certified in AWS D17.1 (6G position) for II A & III B materials.
• Proven ability to produce X‑ray quality Class A welds on SS 321 and Inconel 625.
• Experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace.
