Assistant Engineer – Welding (TIG & Orbital)

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Engineer – Welding to join our Multi‑modal Manufacturing Facility in Pune. The role focuses on high‑precision TIG and orbital welding of stainless steel and Inconel tubes and ducts for commercial jet engines, ensuring >95% first‑pass yield and Class A X‑ray quality welds.

Key responsibilities

• Perform TIG and orbital welding of tubes, air manifolds, and sheet‑metal components.
• Weld and fabricate stainless steel and Inconel parts, including repair of defective castings.
• Interpret engineering drawings, SOPs, and manuals to produce finished products.
• Assemble welded components and operate welding positioners, bevellers, rollers, and 3‑D welding tables.
• Apply problem‑solving tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, and RCA to improve processes.
• Train junior welders and maintain high safety and integrity standards.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical, Metallurgy, Welding or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of TIG and orbital welding experience on stainless steel and Inconel tubes/ducts.
• Certified in AWS D17.1 for 6G position with II A & III B materials.
• Proven ability to produce X‑ray Class A weld joints (SS 321, Inconel 625).
• Experience in aerospace or aviation manufacturing preferred.
