Sr Staff EHS / Safety Engineer

About the role

The Sr Staff EHS / Safety Engineer will provide safety support on specified projects, ensuring compliance with Applied Materials policies and government regulations. This role involves developing and implementing programs to minimize risk to employees, customers, and the environment.

Key responsibilities

• Specify, provide, and manage safety support for projects, coordinating with engineering, customers, and internal teams.
• Develop and maintain safety programs across multiple EH&S functions such as Product Safety, Site Safety, Lab Safety, and Environmental compliance.
• Conduct safety analyses, investigations, and corrective action programs using methods like 8D, FMEA, and PHA.
• Manage third‑party product safety assessments and drive corrective actions.
• Administer EH&S training programs and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in EHS or safety engineering.
• Demonstrated expertise in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental standards.
• Ability to work in tight spaces, clean rooms, and use personal protective equipment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to present safety status to business groups.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 8D problem‑solving methodology.
• Experience using FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
• Knowledge of PHA (Preliminary Hazard Analysis) techniques.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements and EH&S standards.
