Chip Architect

About the role

An experienced IC Architect at NXP will define and deliver cutting‑edge system‑on‑chip (SoC) architectures for next‑generation products. The role translates high‑level product requirements into robust architectures while balancing performance, power, area, and cost.

Key responsibilities

• Architect the overall IC structure, covering digital, analog, and mixed‑signal blocks and defining test strategies.
• Convert high‑level product specifications into detailed technical requirements for design teams.
• Perform system‑level optimization, balancing trade‑offs in performance, power, area, and cost.
• Collaborate with product managers, software architects, customers, and project managers to align requirements, resources, schedules, and milestones.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring design engineers and subsystem architects throughout development.
• Define technical interfaces with external suppliers and partners, ensuring alignment.
• Support structured project governance and maintain communication across local and remote teams.
• Drive end‑to‑end chip delivery from concept and specification through tape‑out, qualification, and production.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an IC or SoC architect with a strong track record of delivering silicon.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and mentor junior engineers.
• Excellent analytical skills to balance performance, power, area, and cost trade‑offs.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
