Application Benchmarking Engineer

About the role

Oetiker is seeking an Application Benchmarking Engineer to drive data‑based insights for automotive connector solutions. You will work closely with global sales and engineering teams, using benchmarking tools to compare Oetiker products with competitor offerings and to identify market trends.

Key responsibilities

• Support design teams by customizing standard products and processes to meet unique customer requirements.
• Utilize the A2Mac1 platform to extract key insights, identify opportunities, and analyse automotive trends.
• Collect, consolidate and present benchmarking data on automotive manufacturers, competitors and market developments.
• Conduct data‑mapping studies for major global OEMs and share recommendations with sales teams.
• Review worldwide automotive data to highlight emerging technologies, packaging, systems, design and material innovations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 4‑5 years of experience in automotive applications or related engineering fields.
• Solid understanding of automotive connector requirements and manufacturing practices for metals and plastics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with database administration tools.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI (Fabric) and Salesforce.
• Familiarity with the A2Mac1 benchmarking platform.
