Area Sales Manager – HDFC Relationship (All Verticals)

About the role

The Area Sales Manager – HDFC Relationship will lead the insurance business across Tamil Nadu, driving premium growth and managing key partnerships with HDFC Bank. You will be responsible for achieving sales targets, maintaining high persistency, and ensuring smooth operational processes.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve annual premium and revenue targets (5‑10 Cr) for the assigned vertical.
• Maintain continuous interaction with HDFC channel partners and map key decision‑makers.
• Ensure smooth functioning of sales, issuance, and complaint handling processes.
• Communicate product, process, and regulatory changes to the team and partners.
• Monitor and control expenses, maintaining an expense tracker and securing commitments before spending.
• Recruit, train, and retain a team of 4‑5 Sales Managers, aiming for 90 % retention.
• Drive a persistency rate of at least 80 % on premiums and policies.
• Align HDFC Bank priorities with company objectives to maximize business potential.

Required profile

• Proven experience in life‑insurance sales and managing channel partnerships, preferably with HDFC Bank.
• Strong track record of meeting or exceeding premium targets (5‑10 Cr annualized).
• Ability to lead and develop a small sales team while maintaining high retention.
• Excellent understanding of insurance regulations (IRDA) and internal processes.
• Result‑oriented mindset with a focus on customer satisfaction and low complaint rates.
