Business Development Executive – Retail (Tamil Nadu)

About the role

Purplle is seeking a Business Development Executive to lead its retail expansion across Tamil Nadu. The role involves scouting and securing new store locations, negotiating lease terms, and coordinating with cross‑functional teams to ensure timely store openings.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential sites based on business criteria, market potential and competitor presence.
• Negotiate commercial terms, lease agreements and secure retail spaces with property owners, brokers and landlords.
• Conduct catchment analysis, footfall assessment and market research to recommend optimal locations.
• Collaborate with Projects, Procurement, Finance, Legal and Store Operations to drive store setup and launch.
• Maintain property documentation, approvals and MIS reports throughout the expansion process.
• Monitor progress of new store openings, track timelines, prepare status reports and ensure milestones are met.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Real Estate or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in business development, retail expansion, site acquisition, new store opening or commercial leasing.
• Prior exposure to retail, beauty & cosmetics, FMCG, fashion, lifestyle or QSR sectors is preferred.
