Advanced Welder – Level 1

About the role

Honeywell is seeking an Advanced Welder – Level 1 to perform high‑precision welding operations that support our manufacturing processes. You will join a skilled team responsible for producing strong, reliable welds that meet strict quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and procedures to plan weld layouts.
• Select appropriate welding equipment and methods (GTAW, SMAW, semi‑automatic) based on material and joint requirements.
• Set up components and operate cutting, beveling, and grinding machines to prepare parts for welding.
• Perform manual or semi‑automatic welding in vertical, horizontal, or overhead positions.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces using microscopy, radiography, liquid penetrant, tensile, guided bend, toughness, microstructure, and corrosion methods.
• Maintain welding equipment and accessories in safe, good‑condition working order.

Required profile

• Minimum 8–10 years of welding experience in a similar industrial environment.
• ITI‑Welding or Mechanical Diploma; a valid welding certificate from a reputable institution is preferred.
• Proven experience with GTAW, SMAW, and mixed GTAW+SMAW processes.
• Hands‑on experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex, and Hastelloy, including pipe joints (butt, fillet, socket) from ½" to 12".
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001 standards.

Required skills

• GTAW (TIG) welding.
• SMAW (stick) welding.
• Manual and semi‑automatic welding techniques.
• Operation of cutting, beveling and grinding machines.
• Use of electrical and manual tools such as saws, squares and calipers.
• Welding inspection methods: microscopy, radiography, liquid penetrant, tensile, guided bend, toughness, microstructure, corrosion testing.
• Knowledge of safety standards and proper protective equipment.
