Transaction Monitoring Analytics Vice President

About the role

Barclays is hiring a Transaction Monitoring Analytics Vice President in Gurugram, India, within its Group Economic Crime unit. The role designs, develops, implements and maintains statistical, mathematical and machine learning models that support decision-making, while taking ownership of work that complies with rules, regulations and codes of conduct. The position is permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and acquire data from internal databases, external datasets and real-time feeds.
• Clean and preprocess data to ensure quality and suitability for modelling.
• Design data management strategies for model maintenance and future development.
• Build and run statistical and machine learning models for credit risk, fraud detection, customer segmentation and marketing optimisation.
• Monitor model performance in real time and flag issues or biases.
• Lead training, mentoring and knowledge sharing to raise ML capability across the organisation.
• Evaluate and pilot emerging technologies and frameworks.
• Set strategy, plan resources and budgets, manage policies and processes, and advise stakeholders and senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• Relevant experience in data analytics.
• Data familiarity in transaction monitoring, financial crime, fraud or AML.
• Permanent contract; legal right to work in India required.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with Python, SQL and PySpark.
• Preferred: exposure to BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• An advantage: machine learning experience.
