Team Leader Fungicide Research Chemistry

About the role

The Team Leader will head the APR/FN Fungicide Chemistry team, driving the discovery and development of innovative chemical crop‑protection actives. You will work in a diverse, international laboratory environment, collaborating with experts across chemistry, biology, agronomy and regulatory fields.

Key responsibilities

• Lead an organic synthesis laboratory team in designing and synthesizing new fungicide active ingredients.
• Analyze biological activity and apply structure‑activity relationships to guide new designs.
• Conduct multiparameter optimisation using medicinal chemistry concepts at the fungus‑plant interface.
• Stay current with modern organic synthesis, drug‑discovery techniques and competitor developments.
• Network with academic partners, scientific collaborators and technology providers.

Required profile

• PhD in chemistry, medicinal chemistry or a related discipline.
• Advanced knowledge of organic chemical synthesis.
• Strong communication, creativity and curiosity to drive innovation.
• Experience abroad, post‑doctoral work or prior crop‑protection/pharmaceutical research is advantageous but not mandatory.
