Senior Associate Specialist – FRC & Accounting Compliance

About the role

BASF is building a new Global Hub in India and seeks a Senior Associate Specialist to lead Financial Risk & Controls, Payments Operations and Accounting Compliance within the Competence Center. The role ensures high‑quality, compliant execution of end‑to‑end Purchase‑to‑Pay processes while driving continuous improvement and mitigating financial risk.

Key responsibilities

• Execute daily and periodic financial controls to guarantee accurate invoice posting and P2P compliance.
• Monitor FRC KPIs (spot‑check, overdue, blocked invoices, duplicates) and develop actionable insights.
• Manage timely vendor payments, perform payment quality checks and resolve errors.
• Perform GR/IR and P2P account reconciliations, prepare monthly reports and analyse reconciliation KPIs.
• Support internal and external audits by conducting pre‑audit controls and addressing findings.
• Identify automation and standardisation opportunities to simplify P2P processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in end‑to‑end Purchase‑to‑Pay or finance operations.
• Strong knowledge of financial risk, control frameworks and audit coordination.
• Hands‑on experience with vendor payment processing and account reconciliations.
• Ability to monitor key performance indicators and drive process improvements.
