Principal Architect – BIM & Design Leadership

About the role

We are seeking a Principal Architect to lead the site team at WSP India. The role combines design leadership, BIM expertise and quality assurance to deliver projects that meet client expectations and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review and evaluate architectural designs for compliance with regulations, standards and guidelines.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams and designers.
• Develop and maintain design standards, guidelines and BIM best practices.
• Identify and mitigate design risks through collaboration with stakeholders.
• Ensure architectural designs align with the organization’s strategic objectives.
• Participate in project planning, governance and cross‑functional issue resolution.
• Liaise with statutory and local authorities to obtain design approvals.
• Lead by example to ensure QMS and Project Life Cycle compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institute.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in a senior architectural role.
• Proven experience on projects in the Middle East.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and commercial acumen.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of BIM processes, including model combination, clash detection and change management.
• In‑depth understanding of relevant regulations, standards and guidelines.
• Technical writing proficiency.
