Senior HVAC Engineer

About the role

AFRY is seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Engineer to join its collaborative expert team. You will work on diverse, demanding projects using the latest design tools, closely partnering with a Finnish team and mentoring junior designers. The role also requires developing Finnish language skills to produce design documentation for local clients.

Key responsibilities

• Guide and support junior designers through mentoring, technical coaching, and design reviews.
• Perform and support 3D modeling as part of the design and coordination process.
• Review and validate calculations, drawings, and models to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Coordinate and review design deliverables to meet Finnish client and contractor requirements.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable regulations, standards, and client specifications.
• Take responsibility for the quality of designs and deliverables.
• Proactively communicate with other engineers to resolve issues and drive them to completion.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in HVAC Engineering.
• Fluent in English with over 10 years of HVAC design experience.
• Proficient in MagiCad, Navisworks and AutoCAD.
• At least 3 years of experience on projects in the Nordic countries, including Finland.
• Strong project management background and proven track record in industrial, residential and public building projects.
• Ability to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
