Operations & Maintenance Engineer – NRW

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Operations & Maintenance Engineer to lead the upkeep of mechanical assets across water and wastewater treatment facilities. The role focuses on ensuring reliable performance of pumps, compressors, blowers, valves and pipeline networks while delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee operation and maintenance of HSC pumps, vertical turbine pumps, compressors, blowers and various valve types.
• Execute preventive, breakdown and predictive maintenance programs to minimise downtime.
• Implement and monitor a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for efficient work order tracking.
• Conduct audits of water and wastewater treatment plants and supervise commissioning activities.
• Perform water loss analysis, leak detection and NRW (Non‑Revenue Water) reduction initiatives.
• Prepare and manage monsoon‑season precautionary activities.
• Ensure compliance with EHS, quality procedures and site‑specific SOPs.
• Manage sub‑contracts, vendor agreements, purchase orders and KPI monitoring.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 4‑13 years of experience OR B.E./B.Tech (ME) with 4‑10 years of experience.
• Strong background in O&M of mechanical equipment within water/wastewater utilities.
• Proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
