Operations Analyst - Enhanced Due Diligence / Exits

About the role

Barclays is hiring an Operations Analyst for its Group Economic Crime unit in Chennai, India, to work on Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and exits. The role covers day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution of EDD and exit cases, and is a permanent position.

Key responsibilities

• Support day-to-day EDD and exit initiatives, including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution.
• Carry out EDD reviews on high-risk customers to stay compliant with regulatory requirements and policies.
• Carry out exit reviews on customers whose accounts are being closed to mitigate risk, in line with compliance and internal policy.
• Collaborate with teams across the bank to align and integrate EDD and exit processes.
• Identify areas for improvement and recommend changes to EDD and exit processes.
• Develop and implement issue resolutions for inefficient controls.
• Develop reports and presentations on EDD and exit performance and share findings with senior stakeholders.
• Take part in projects that improve EDD and exit efficiency and effectiveness.

Required profile

• Desirable: experience supporting financial crime prevention activities, including identifying and assessing potential financial crime risks.
• Desirable: practical experience conducting EDD reviews, analysing customer information and documenting risk-related findings.
• Desirable: experience reviewing transactions and spotting unusual or potentially suspicious activity.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to document findings clearly and communicate with stakeholders.
• Assessed on essential skills such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, and job-specific technical skills.
