Assistant Vice President, Financial Planning and Stress Testing

About the role

Barclays is hiring an Assistant Vice President for its Finance team in Chennai, India, to develop and implement the bank's financial plans and stress testing methodologies. The role assesses the bank's resilience under various economic scenarios, identifies vulnerabilities, evaluates capital adequacy and informs risk mitigation strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement stress testing methodologies, analyse results and use them to assess capital adequacy and inform risk mitigation
• Manage the bank's financial risks, including risk management strategies and communicating financial risks to stakeholders
• Analyse the capital position, assess compliance with regulatory capital requirements and develop capital management strategies
• Orchestrate the Planning and Stress Testing (P&ST) process cycles and manage delivery of the planning process and stress tests
• Document regulator requirements and track progress through steering committees, working groups and workflow tools
• Manage data, data flows and data quality from contributors to report submission
• Manage BAU systems to generate capital or funding plans quickly and drive process reengineering
• Own the control environment, standards and conformance, partnering with the Business Information Assurance team

Required profile

• Permanent contract, based in Chennai
• Postgraduate qualification in a numerate or information discipline desirable
• CA/ICWA, MBA (Finance) or another degree with a strong academic record
• Experience in financial reporting, regulatory reporting and control, planning and/or analytics
• Project management or Scrum Master capabilities

Required skills

• Knowledge of business intelligence platforms such as SAP, Tableau, Alteryx, Python and data management and transformation
• Experience designing management information dashboards and analytics
• Assessment on risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology skills
