Analytics & Modeling Analyst

About the role

Moody's is looking for an Analytics & Modeling Analyst to join its Model Verification team in Bengaluru. The team verifies and enhances the financial models that underpin Moody's rating methodologies, designing and running model testing procedures and analytical projects that confirm the accuracy and reliability of credit risk models. The role sits at the intersection of quantitative finance, model risk governance and analytical technology.

Key responsibilities

• Verify and enhance the financial models underlying Moody's rating methodologies.
• Build complex cash flow models using proprietary software for verification purposes.
• Implement model testing procedures and develop analytical projects to confirm that financial models can assess credit risk.
• Build financial model prototypes and help implement new control processes for rating models and scorecards.
• Support research and validation projects across the team.
• Collaborate with rating analysts, model development teams and research groups to deliver high-quality analytical outcomes.

Required profile

• 0 to 3 years of overall experience in credit risk modeling.
• Graduate or post-graduate degree in Applied Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Econometrics, Statistics, Finance, Physics or Business preferred.
• CFA/FRM certification is a plus.
• Strong analytical mindset, willingness to learn new technologies, collaborative and detail-oriented approach.
• Interest in AI tools and responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of at least two of: VBA, C++, C#, MATLAB, R or Python.
• Experience in structured finance and cash flow modeling is a strong plus.
• Working knowledge of Moody's Structured Finance Workstation is strongly preferred.
