Mechanical Engineer – Plastic & Sheet Design (Bangalore)

About the role

Capgemini Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its Bangalore team, focusing on plastic and sheet‑metal product design for high‑voltage electromechanical components. You will work on new product development from concept through production release, collaborating with global engineering and manufacturing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop plastic and sheet‑metal parts using Creo, applying GD&T and tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• Perform creepage and clearance analysis, insulation coordination, and structural/thermal hand calculations.
• Drive DFMA, DFMEA, and SFMEA studies, translating mitigation plans into CTQ and CTF specifications.
• Create manufacturing and assembly drawings, BOMs, and detailed documentation in Windchill.
• Manage engineering change requests and release documents following PLM processes.
• Prepare verification and validation plans, test cases, and test reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 4+ years of experience in plastic and sheet‑metal design, preferably for automotive electromechanical components.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and self‑driven work ethic.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work with multicultural teams.

Required skills

• Creo (3D CAD) and Windchill PLM.
• GD&T, tolerance stack‑up, DFMA, DFMEA, SFMEA.
• Creepage & clearance analysis, insulation coordination.
• Structural and thermal hand calculations.
• Engineering change management and document release processes.
• Knowledge of injection molding, sheet‑metal stamping, FEA, IQ/OQ/PQ/PPAP.
