Machinery Monitoring Engineer

About the role

The Machinery Monitoring Engineer joins Chevron’s Reliability and Integrity organization within the ENGINE Center. The role focuses on remote monitoring, diagnostics, and the development of predictive solutions for critical rotating equipment across North American deepwater assets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy predictive analytics and advanced diagnostic tools for subsea pump performance and other rotating equipment.
• Monitor subsea pumps, HPUs, and control systems, interfacing with the Deepwater Support Center and Subsea Operations Team.
• Identify and report equipment anomalies promptly, maintaining the performance monitoring tool and integrating new pump systems.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to troubleshoot equipment, analyse long‑term trends, and detect early signs of degradation.
• Perform equipment health assessments, provide data‑driven optimisation recommendations, and review lubricating oil sample reports.
• Support data collection, analysis, and benchmarking of reliability, availability, and efficiency metrics across the region.
• Assist in preparing equipment history briefs after major maintenance or repairs.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university.
• Extensive experience in rotating equipment operation, maintenance, optimisation and condition monitoring.
• Proven background in predictive analytics for subsea equipment.
• 10+ years of experience as a machinery engineer or analyst in an oil‑and‑gas environment.
