Lead QAQC – Mechanical & Process (Cleanroom)

About the role

We are seeking a Lead QAQC professional to oversee quality assurance for mechanical piping fabrication and erection in high‑purity and ultra‑high‑purity (HP/UHP) process systems and cleanroom infrastructure. The role demands deep knowledge of semiconductor‑grade cleanliness standards, orbital welding, and cleanroom construction protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee fabrication and installation quality of HP/UHP piping systems (UPW, CDA, N2, specialty gas, chemical distribution).
• Conduct pre‑fabrication audits, verify material traceability (heat and mill certificates) per ASTM standards.
• Monitor orbital welding operations, manage welder qualifications, purging protocols, and borescope inspections.
• Review and approve ITPs, WPS/PQR, and welding records for SS 316L, PVDF, and other materials.
• Witness hydro/pneumatic pressure tests, helium leak tests, and particle‑count tests.
• Enforce cleanroom construction protocols, including gowning, contamination control, and material handling.
• Track NCRs from identification through closure and analyse systemic trends.
• Coordinate with GC, PMC, process engineers, and move‑in teams for CMIA milestones.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering.
• 10+ years of quality experience in process/mechanical construction, with at least 3 years on HP/UHP or cleanroom projects.
• Prior involvement in semiconductor fab, pharmaceutical, or advanced electronics facilities preferred.

Required skills

• Knowledge of SEMI, ASME, IS and AWS codes.
• Orbital welding and manual GTAW for fittings, flanges and repairs.
• Purging and back‑purging protocols, oxygen monitoring.
• Weld coupon qualification, tensile, bend and borescope inspection.
• Thermoplastic welding (IR fusion, socket fusion) for PVDF and PP piping.
• Ability to read process flow diagrams, P&IDs, isometric and cleanroom layout drawings.
• Proficiency in MS Excel (trackers, pivot tables), PowerPoint and Word.
