Assistant Manager – Projects (Mechanical Construction)

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Projects will lead structural steel fabrication and erection activities for Tata Electronics' semiconductor foundry project. The role requires close coordination with engineering, general contractors, and vendors to ensure timely and quality execution.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and supervise structural steel fabrication and erection works.
• Coordinate with engineering to obtain timely inputs and work with GCs and fabrication vendors.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GA drawings, Tekla models, and shop drawings for fabrication.
• Ensure compliance with IS standards, AWS and ASME codes.
• Work with the Quality team to finalize welding processes, ITPs, and stage inspections.
• Maintain safety standards, prepare work permits, and enforce preventive measures on site.
• Prepare fabrication reports, monitor progress, and escalate issues.
• Submit periodic reports to top management.

Required profile

• BE/B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in mechanical construction and execution projects.
• Strong background in heavy structural steel fabrication and erection.
• Hands‑on welding knowledge and experience with GA and shop drawings.
• Ability to work in multi‑disciplinary environments.
