Assistant Manager – Projects (Mechanical Construction)

About the role

Tata Electronics Private Limited is establishing India’s first AI‑enabled semiconductor foundry. The Assistant Manager – Projects will lead the execution and supervision of heavy structural steel fabrication and erection activities, ensuring alignment with engineering, quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and supervise structural steel fabrication and erection works on site.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to obtain timely inputs and with general contractors and fabrication vendors.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GA drawings, Tekla models and shop drawings for accurate fabrication.
• Apply relevant Indian Standards (IS), AWS and ASME codes throughout the project.
• Work with the quality team to define welding processes, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and stage inspections.
• Enforce safety norms, prepare work permits and manage work‑at‑height activities.
• Monitor progress, prepare fabrication reports and escalate issues to senior management.

Required profile

• BE/B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in mechanical construction and execution projects.
• Strong background in heavy structural steel fabrication and erection.
• Hands‑on knowledge of welding processes.
• Experience working with GA drawings, shop drawings and multidisciplinary environments.
