Kitchen Commis – Food Preparation Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Kitchen Commis to join our culinary team at a luxury hotel in Mumbai. You will support chefs by preparing ingredients, cooking simple dishes, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.

Key responsibilities

• Portion, chop, wash, peel, and store fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes.
• Prepare and cook cold and hot foods, following quality, presentation, and safety standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers safely.
• Test food for doneness and monitor temperature of appliances and dishes.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions, and maintain sanitation of kitchen areas, tools, and equipment.
• Report maintenance needs, accidents, or unsafe conditions and follow company safety policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related kitchen or food‑service experience.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive motions for an entire shift.
• Professional appearance and commitment to confidentiality and asset protection.

• Food preparation, portioning, and basic cooking techniques.
