GST Advisory & Litigation Associate (Indirect Tax)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Associate to join our Indirect Tax team in Pune, focusing on GST advisory and litigation. The role involves providing expert tax advice, preparing compliance documentation, and supporting clients through tax disputes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑depth research and analysis of GST legal provisions.
• Draft advisory notes, opinions, compliance reports, and legal submissions.
• Prepare PowerPoint presentations for client meetings, trainings and seminars.
• Analyze client data to estimate tax impact and design tax‑efficient business models.
• Assist in handling notices, appeals and representation before tax authorities.
• Manage a portfolio of smaller clients with near‑independent responsibility.
• Mentor junior associates and contribute to knowledge‑sharing initiatives.

Required profile

• CA (first attempt preferred) or LLB from a recognized law school with strong academic record.
• 1‑4 years of experience in indirect tax advisory or litigation.
• Excellent English communication skills and professional demeanor.
• Ability to identify technical issues, manage client relationships and stay updated on tax developments.
