Finance Manager – Corporate Accounting

About the role

FOLKS, an award‑winning visual effects studio, is looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join its Corporate Accounting team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will support the Australian finance function while collaborating with global finance stakeholders in a fast‑paced, multinational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day corporate accounting activities and month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations, financial reports, and supporting schedules.
• Assist with audit, compliance, and financial control activities.
• Support financial reporting and cross‑functional finance operations across regions.
• Collaborate with regional and international stakeholders to ensure efficient finance processes.
• Drive process improvements, standardisation, and operational efficiencies.
• Maintain accurate financial records in line with company policies and accounting standards.
• Utilise NetSuite and other finance systems for reporting and accounting operations.
• Provide ad‑hoc analysis and reporting to finance leadership as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• Professional qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA) preferred.
• Relevant experience in accounting and finance within multinational organisations.
• Experience supporting Australian finance operations is highly desirable.
• Exposure to shared services, media, entertainment or project‑based industries is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of corporate accounting, financial reporting and accounting controls.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP/accounting systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis.
• Understanding of audit processes, compliance requirements and financial governance.
