Engineering Apprenticeship – Mechanical & Electrical

About the role

Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL) is offering a one‑year apprenticeship program for recent graduates and diploma holders in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. The program follows the Apprentices (Amendment) Act 1973 and provides on‑the‑job training combined with a monthly stipend.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in day‑to‑day shipyard operations and projects.
• Participate in practical training sessions covering mechanical and electrical systems.
• Support maintenance, installation, and testing activities under supervision.
• Maintain documentation and reports as required by the apprenticeship scheme.

Required profile

• Graduate (BE/B.Tech) or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, passed between 2022 and 2026.
• Age 18 years or older as of 18‑05‑2026.
• Eligibility under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act 1973.
• For diploma candidates, an Equivalency Certificate is mandatory if qualifications are not directly comparable.
