Documentary Trade Operator – Associate (Mumbai)

About the role

The Documentary Trade Operator (Associate) will manage day‑to‑day operations related to bank guarantees and letters of credit for our Mumbai office. You will work closely with internal teams and clients to ensure smooth processing, regulatory compliance, and timely resolution of issues.

Key responsibilities

• Scrutinize requests and documents received under Bank Guarantees (BG) or Letters of Credit (LC).
• Mitigate operational and regulatory risks by applying FEMA regulations and RBI master circulars.
• Handle “extension cum invocation” and “pure invocation” cases in line with RBI guidelines.
• Escalate and resolve issues promptly, identify root causes, and drive resolutions.
• Maintain accurate internal reconciliations and ensure no aging items.
• Participate in data‑cleanup initiatives and remediation outreach.
• Support branch/mid‑office operations for export, import, BG & LC products.
• Interact with clients to address concerns, improve processes, and manage complaints.

Required profile

• Strong written and verbal communication skills across all stakeholder levels.
• Customer‑oriented mindset with the ability to balance control and service.
• Ability to work under pressure in a time‑sensitive environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel knowledge.
