Director of Sales Marketing

About the role

Merlis Hotels in Coimbatore is seeking a Director of Sales Marketing to lead its sales and marketing functions. This full‑time, on‑site position focuses on driving occupancy, revenue, and brand visibility for both business and leisure guests.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive sales and marketing strategies aligned with market trends.
• Lead, motivate and mentor a diverse sales and marketing team.
• Manage corporate and group accounts, generate leads, and nurture long‑term client relationships.
• Oversee marketing campaigns, promotional activities, and the hotel’s online presence.
• Analyze performance data, prepare forecasts, and collaborate with operations and front‑office teams.
• Build partnerships with travel agents, corporate clients, and other business development partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hotel or hospitality sales leadership, preferably in a similar market.
• Strong communication, negotiation and presentation abilities in English; Tamil knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to work on‑site in Coimbatore and collaborate across functional teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality Management or related field; advanced certifications are beneficial.
