Design Engineer – Heavy Equipment & Mining

About the role

The Design Engineer will provide technical engineering and innovation support for aftermarket R&D projects, delivering custom engineered solutions for mining and construction equipment. You will work closely with customers to translate requirements into actionable designs while ensuring high service quality.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D models and drawings using Creo for large assemblies.
• Prepare and release Bills of Materials (BOM) and manage engineering change requests.
• Apply GD&T and design standards to ensure manufacturability.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to address customer requirements and provide technical feedback.
• Support PLM (Teamcenter) and PDM (M3) processes, including data management and documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3‑4 years of experience with mining machinery, earth‑moving equipment, drilling equipment, off‑road vehicles or heavy engineering.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret customer needs and convert them into design tasks.
• Energetic team player with good communication skills and a willingness to learn.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Creo, including large‑assembly handling.
• Knowledge of GD&T, drawing detailing, and design standards.
• Experience with PLM systems (Teamcenter) and PDM tools (M3) – a plus.
• Familiarity with Pro‑Piping, Pro‑Cabling.
• Exposure to sheet‑metal design, welding, and fabrication processes.
