Design Engineer (CAD & Automation)

About the role

The Design Engineer will support the automation and manufacturing teams by creating detailed part and assembly designs. You will work with engineering drawings, standards and a variety of CAD tools to deliver 2D and 3D models that meet production requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare 2D and 3D CAD models, assembly drawings, part drawings and Bill of Materials.
• Design fixtures for spot welding and MIG welding applications.
• Interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles.
• Collaborate on system and fixture design projects within the automation industry.
• Provide technical support for tooling, machine, fabrication and assembly processes.
• Utilise MS Excel and Word for documentation and data management.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of CAD part design and ability to read engineering drawings and standards.
• Experience in the automation industry, including system, fixture and SPM design.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and on‑site project design.
• Familiarity with GD&T application.
