Customer-Facing Counter Agent – Logistics Operations

About the role

As a Counter Agent you will be the primary point of contact for walk‑in customers and intermediaries, delivering seamless, professional logistics services. Working on‑site five days a week, you will support import and export operations, manage shipping documentation and ensure compliant cargo release.

Key responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with customers and intermediaries by understanding their needs and providing tailored operational support.
• Handle shipping documentation and cargo release in accordance with company procedures and customer agreements.
• Take end‑to‑end ownership of customer inquiries, resolving issues efficiently and professionally.
• Coordinate with internal departments to support import/export processes, delivery orders and case management.
• Manage container destination changes, returns and re‑exports within regional networks.
• Liaise with international stakeholders and Maersk hubs to fulfil operational and customer requests.
• Prepare reports and operational data for management, highlighting trends and service improvements.
• Identify recurring issues and contribute to continuous improvement and process optimisation.
• Support Maersk’s digitisation agenda by encouraging use of internal systems and e‑features for tracking and reporting.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service orientation with the ability to communicate clearly.
• Willingness to work on‑site full‑time and adapt to a five‑day‑a‑week schedule.
• Readiness to travel to other Maersk sites within Algeria as needed.
