Manager Buyer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manager Buyer to lead procurement activities for its semiconductor and display equipment business in Bangalore. The role combines strategic sourcing, vendor management, and team leadership to ensure timely delivery of high‑quality components.

Key responsibilities

• Direct the activities of buyers and expediters to accomplish company objectives.
• Evaluate vendor reliability and maintain strong working relationships.
• Review and approve purchases up to the authorized dollar limit.
• Develop and enforce procurement policies while monitoring cost, schedule, and performance of major sub‑contracts.

Required profile

• 10+ years of procurement experience with at least 5 years in people management.
• Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and travel up to 20% of the time.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in SAP MM and SAP ERP.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with MRP signal changes and purchase‑to‑pay processes.
