Physical Automation Engineer – Warehouse Robotics

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Physical Automation Engineer to lead warehouse robotics and real‑time tracking initiatives at its Bangalore facility. The role focuses on integrating RFID, RTLS and robot technologies to optimise large‑scale warehouse operations.

Key responsibilities

• Configure and maintain Zebra MotionWorks, printers, readers and scanners across the warehouse.
• Provide real‑time visualisation and issue resolution for warehouse activities.
• Integrate mobile robots (e.g., Geek+ and Standard Robots) with material movement processes.
• Design warehouse layouts that incorporate robotics and IoT tracking solutions.
• Apply Industry 4.0 best practices to improve parts storage, movement and tracking.

Required profile

• 4–9 years of experience in large‑scale warehouse operations.
• Hands‑on experience with RFID and Real‑Time Location System (RTLS) technologies.

Required skills

• Zebra MotionWorks, Zebra printers, readers and scanners.
• RFID, RTLS, barcode scanning, vision inspection systems.
• Robotics platforms such as Geek+ and Standard Robots.
• IoT, low‑code tools, basic cloud and infrastructure knowledge.
• Network fundamentals (LAN, WAN, corporate Wi‑Fi).
