Corporate Counsel, Seller Services – Marketplace

About the role

Amazon's Legal Department is looking for an experienced corporate lawyer to join the Seller Services team in Bangalore. Reporting to the Director of Legal, you will provide legal counsel for a fast‑growing marketplace business, supporting both domestic and international initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Advise seller services, brand relations, marketplace trust and product tech teams on matters such as foreign direct investment, competition, consumer protection, privacy, IT and IP law.
• Structure, draft and negotiate a range of contracts, from routine agreements to high‑value, complex deals.
• Conduct legal reviews of new business programs and products, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
• Collaborate with global legal teams, external counsel, tax, litigation, finance, public relations and public policy groups.
• Support pre‑litigation dispute resolution and manage ongoing commercial relationships.

Required profile

• LLB or equivalent law degree (India or other common‑law jurisdiction) with 8‑14 years of post‑qualification experience.
• Strong background in corporate, compliance and business law, preferably with exposure to e‑commerce or technology licensing.
• Proven ability to work independently and influence senior stakeholders across multiple functions.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
