Consulting Architect - Platform

About the role

You will be the go‑to expert when customers need an Elasticsearch platform designed correctly from the start or when they face platform‑related issues. You will define cluster topology, shard strategy, data tiers and retention, and back those decisions with solid sizing arithmetic.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build Elasticsearch platforms for self‑managed, orchestrated and managed deployments, including air‑gapped and regulated environments.
• Own sizing and capacity planning based on workload characteristics and validate with benchmarks.
• Run health checks, redesign sharding, mapping and index strategies, and lead major‑version upgrades and disaster‑recovery planning.
• Diagnose performance issues across the full stack – Elastic, JVM, OS, storage and network – and work with customer architects to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Create reusable tooling and automation, including AI‑assisted diagnostics, and mentor other consultants.

Required profile

• 8+ years of hands‑on experience with the Elastic Stack, focusing on cluster and platform work.
• Proven expertise in shard strategy, index and mapping design, lifecycle management and disaster‑recovery execution.
• Experience with major‑version upgrades in production and multiple deployment models (self‑managed and managed/orchestrated).
• Strong Linux fundamentals and solid understanding of storage and networking concepts.
• Elastic Certified Engineer or ability to obtain certification within the first quarter.
