Commis II – Kitchen Assistant (Full‑time)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Commis II to join our kitchen team at a Westin hotel in Mumbai. You will support the culinary team by preparing ingredients, cooking under supervision, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients, wash, peel, and cut fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes.
• Cook and assemble dishes, ensuring quality, presentation, and temperature standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers safely.
• Test foods for doneness and monitor food quality throughout preparation.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions, and maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas and equipment.
• Check appliance and food temperatures, follow safety policies, and report any hazards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related kitchen or food‑service experience.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive motions.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Willingness to follow company policies, maintain professional appearance, and protect confidential information.
