Buyer – Central Sourcing, GPCS APAC

About the role

As a member of the Global Procurement Central Services (GPCS) Sourcing team, you will manage tail‑spend procurement for Amazon across APAC, NA and EMEA. The role combines reactive sourcing of purchase requisitions with proactive analysis of unmanaged spend to expand catalog coverage and improve compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Execute reactive sourcing for purchase requisitions, conducting competitive e‑sourcing events and awarding contracts to compliant suppliers.
• Leverage AI‑powered procurement tools (automated RFQ generation, intelligent vendor matching, autonomous quote reading) to accelerate cycle times and support data‑driven decisions.
• Analyze unmanaged spend data using analytical platforms and AI insights to identify catalog expansion opportunities and reduce non‑compliant free‑text purchasing.
• Ensure compliance with Amazon’s Global Spending and Transaction Policy and GPO procurement standards.
• Collaborate with business requesters, Category Management, Site Procurement Operations and external suppliers to deliver compliant sourcing solutions.
• Track and report on KPIs such as savings, catalog coverage, cycle time and compliance rates.
• Participate in process‑improvement and technology‑adoption initiatives to enhance tail‑spend management.

Required profile

• Experience in procurement or sourcing, preferably within a global organization.
• Familiarity with tail‑spend management and catalog expansion initiatives.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
