Business Finance Analyst

About the role

The Business Finance Analyst will support the Business Finance function by delivering accurate daily P&L reporting, attribution and analysis for investment‑banking products. The role ensures that profit and loss drivers are clearly explained and that all transactions are correctly reflected in the bank’s accounting records.

Key responsibilities

• Produce daily T+1 P&L, perform attribution and provide variance commentary to front‑office traders and senior finance managers.
• Investigate and resolve break investigations between model, ledger, cash, and trade documentation.
• Address model risk control exceptions and ensure compliance with risk and control guidelines.
• Respond promptly to queries from finance directors, on‑shore management, traders, risk management and other stakeholders.
• Understand trade flows and booking structures to enable accurate funding cost allocation via funds transfer pricing.

Required profile

• Experience in financial control or product control within investment banking.
• Strong understanding of loans, bonds, credit, derivatives, cash equity, swaps, options, futures and fixed‑income products.
• Knowledge of IFRS or GAAP accounting standards.
• Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks and escalate issues when needed.
