AVP FC TM Control Owner - Data & Analytics

About the role

Barclays is hiring an Assistant Vice President, FC TM Control Owner in Gurugram, India, within the Group Economic Crime business area, under the Data & Analytics expertise. The role is permanent and focuses on designing, developing, implementing and maintaining statistical, mathematical and machine learning models that support decision-making and solve complex problems.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and acquire data from internal databases, external datasets and real-time feeds.
• Clean and preprocess data to ensure quality and suitability for model development.
• Design and implement data management strategies for model maintenance and future development.
• Build and deploy statistical and machine learning models for credit risk assessment, fraud detection, customer segmentation and marketing optimisation.
• Monitor model performance in real time and flag potential issues or biases.
• Lead training, mentoring and knowledge-sharing to build ML capability across the organisation.
• Evaluate and pilot emerging technologies, tools and frameworks to stay ahead of AI innovation.
• Advise on decision-making, contribute to policy development and lead a team delivering work that impacts the whole business function.
• Set objectives, coach employees, appraise performance and determine reward outcomes.
• Manage risk and strengthen controls, and develop new policies and procedures supporting the control and governance agenda.
• Analyse complex data from multiple sources and communicate complex information to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Ability to advise and influence decision-making and collaborate closely with other functions and business divisions.
• Leadership of a team, setting objectives and coaching employees.
• Understanding of how different areas coordinate to achieve organisational objectives.
• Legal right to work in India; sponsorship may be required.
