Attorney – Legal Center of Excellence (Bangalore)

About the role

IBM is building a Legal Center of Excellence in Bangalore. As an Attorney you will join a dynamic legal team that supports IBM’s global lawyers and business units, providing both transactional and non‑transactional legal advice.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with fellow lawyers and support staff to deliver legal guidance across all IBM business units.
• Participate in early stages of commercial engagements, including direct and indirect distribution, mergers and acquisitions, and related transactions.
• Advise procurement, real estate, human resources, finance and other functions on regulatory compliance, contractual disputes, litigation, intellectual property, workplace relations, privacy and cybersecurity matters.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of legal service delivery within the Legal CoE.

Required profile

• Qualified to practice law in India.
• 5–13 years of legal experience in‑house, at a law firm, or a combination of both.
• Proven ability to negotiate IT contracts (services, software, cloud) with government and commercial entities.
• Experience handling privacy, cybersecurity, intellectual property and regulatory compliance issues.
• Capacity to work independently with decreasing supervision as familiarity with IBM’s operations grows.
• Strong commitment to integrity and ethical conduct.
