Utility Worker

About the role

The Utility Worker supports the kitchen and dining areas by operating cleaning equipment, maintaining hygiene standards, and handling stock. This full‑time position works on‑site at a Marriott International property in Goa, India.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain dishwashing machines, hand‑wash stations, pot‑scrubbing stations and trash compactors.
• Wash, disinfect and sanitize kitchen, store rooms, tables, tools, knives and equipment using detergents and sanitizing chemicals.
• Receive deliveries, store perishables correctly and rotate stock.
• Inspect, pull, stack cleaned items and return any soiled items for re‑washing.
• Rinse and spray racked items with hot water to remove food residue.
• Sort, soak and re‑wash silverware and breakdown dirty bus tubs.
• Empty and maintain trashcans, dumpsters and recycling bins.
• Clean and mop all assigned areas, dispose of glass and break down cardboard for recycling.
• Follow company safety policies, report maintenance needs, accidents and complete required safety training.
• Communicate clearly with team members and support a positive work environment.

Required profile

• Ability to lift, carry, push or pull objects up to 50 lb without assistance.
• Comfort standing, walking or sitting for extended periods and reaching overhead or below the knees.
• Willingness to work in a fast‑paced kitchen environment and follow hygiene standards.
• No formal education or prior experience required.
