Steward – Kitchen Support (Full-time)

About the role

Food Matters Group is seeking a full‑time Steward to join its dynamic hospitality team in Mumbai. The role is on‑site and focuses on maintaining high hygiene standards in the back‑of‑house environment.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, work surfaces, and storage areas.
• Operate dishwashing stations, handle and organize crockery, cutlery, glassware, and cookware.
• Ensure proper storage of items according to safety and hygiene guidelines.
• Assist with basic food‑service setup and replenish service stations during service periods.
• Separate and dispose of waste in line with environmental and safety policies.
• Coordinate with kitchen and service teams to support smooth operations during preparation, service, and closing shifts.

Required profile

• Strong customer service and communication skills for effective teamwork.
• Basic knowledge of food‑and‑beverage operations, hygiene, and safety standards.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift supplies, and work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a respectful, team‑oriented attitude.
• Prior experience as a steward or kitchen helper is advantageous but not mandatory.
