State Head – Wires & Cables

About the role

The State Head (Wires & Cables) will lead the Power Division for a designated Indian state, owning the P&L for a brand‑new product portfolio. This senior position reports directly to the Joint Business Head of Power and is responsible for building market presence from scratch.

Key responsibilities

• Enter and develop the state market where Sturlite Power has no legacy inventory or pricing issues.
• Leverage the existing lighting dealer network (over 16,000 partners) to open distributor and retailer channels for wires, cables, and switchgear.
• Lead a team of 46 Area Sales Managers and 1,828 Territory Sales Executives, setting targets and monitoring performance.
• Own the state P&L, driving revenue growth against competitors such as Polycab, Finolex, KEI, and RR Kabel.
• Travel extensively across the state (12‑15 days per month) to engage key accounts and monitor field activities.

Required profile

• Senior management experience in electrical products, wires & cables, or related industrial sales.
• Proven track record of building and managing large sales teams.
• Strong understanding of Indian electrical standards and market dynamics.
• Ability to operate in a greenfield environment with minimal legacy constraints.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IS 694 and IS 170 standards for copper conductors.
• Familiarity with ISI‑marked electrical products and Class 5 conductor specifications.
