Sewage Treatment Plant Operator

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) Operator to manage and monitor wastewater treatment processes in compliance with Pollution Control Board standards. The role involves ensuring smooth operation of treatment and pumping stations while maintaining optimal performance metrics.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily checks of the wastewater treatment process and periodic inspections of pump stations.
• Operate and monitor machinery used for wastewater treatment and pumping.
• Carry out basic preventive maintenance and minor repairs on plant equipment.
• Maintain healthy Mixed Liquor Suspended Solids (MLSS) levels and update log sheets accurately.
• Report plant performance and any issues to the site in‑charge.

Required profile

• High school diploma or undergraduate qualification.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in sewage or wastewater treatment.
• Familiarity with SBR, MBR, MBBR, and ASP treatment processes.
• Basic knowledge of plant equipment maintenance.

Required skills

• Experience with SBR (Sequencing Batch Reactor) processes.
• Experience with MBR (Membrane Bioreactor) processes.
• Experience with MBBR (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor) processes.
• Experience with ASP (Activated Sludge Process) treatment.
• Basic plant equipment maintenance.
