Senior Manager, Food Data and Research

About the role

The Senior Manager, Food Data and Research will join C40’s Climate Solutions & Networks team to lead data‑driven analysis for urban food systems. Working closely with the Food Team and other program areas, you will turn complex datasets into actionable insights that support city‑level climate commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, manage and maintain data pipelines, modelling tools, and visualisations for food system metrics.
• Conduct primary research and day‑to‑day analytics using Excel, R, Python, and QGIS.
• Produce evidence‑based reports for donors, internal stakeholders, and city officials.
• Provide on‑demand data support to cities, including tool training and technical guidance.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify data gaps and develop solutions.

Required profile

• Strong quantitative background with proven project‑management experience.
• Ability to translate technical findings into clear, compelling narratives for non‑technical audiences.
• Experience working with urban climate or food system initiatives is preferred.
